1. Organisational Structure
Your organisation will be set up as a branch in the Academy. Branches have a tree-like structure, and you can create sub-branches within your organisation branch to separate and customise your eLearning offering for different departments, geographical regions, etc., each with its own courses, and users.
For more detailed information on the branch structure, see Getting Started with Academy for Administrators
2. Branch Information
The Branches section displays:
- A list of all existing branches.
- The parent branch (where relevant).
- The number of users and courses associated with each branch.
- Options to edit or add new branches.
- Ability to apply a custom URL for your organisation's branch.
- You can also download the branches list as an Excel-compatible CSV file.
3. Adding a New Sub-branch
To add a new sub-branch:
- Click the Branches button on the dashboard.
- Click Add Branch & provide the following information:
- Name*: Mandatory field for the sub-branch name.
- Parent branch: Defaults to your organisation's main branch but can be adjusted for hierarchy.
- Domain name for branch: Leave blank if you only want a custom URL for the main organisation branch.
- Reference number*: Mandatory unique identifier for quick identification.
- Click Add to create the sub-branch.
4. Editing Branches
To edit a branch or sub-branch:
- Click the pencil button to edit the branch.
- Options are displayed across tabs for Users, Courses, Curricula, and Settings.
- You can download user, course, and curriculum information in Excel-compatible CSV format.
- In the Settings tab, you can configure the site name, motto, language, and theme for the branch's content (theme selection is limited to existing themes).
5. Deleting a Sub-Branch
- Use the Delete Branch button in the "Branch" tab.
Important: Deleting a sub-branch will also remove any sub-branches under it and make administrators of the sub-branch(s) inactive.
- You'll be prompted to select a suitable sub-branch to assign affected users, courses, and curricula. This process is irreversible, and deleted data cannot be recovered.
