Adding and Editing a Curriculum

Curricula represents the highest level of organisation within the Academy's course structure, allowing you to design the framework for your courses. Utilising the Curricula function enables you to group your courses effectively, enabling efficient mass actions for streamlined management.
1. Adding a Curriculum
- To add a new curriculum, click the Curricula icon on the dashboard and click Add Curriculum.
- Below is a table with the fields available and their descriptions:
Fields | Description |
---|---|
Curriculum Image | Not mandatory, although it can help your users quickly identify the correct curriculum in their course catalogue. |
Name | Mandatory field. Give your curriculum a unique title. |
Category |
You should either select My organisation's courses or one of its sub-categories. If you cannot find a suitable category in the list, you can create a new one by typing it in here. |
Short Description | You can enter a summary of the courses in the curriculum. The toolbar above the description field provides various formatting options and allows you to insert tables and hyperlinks. |
Active | Tick to activate / deactivate this curriculum. |
Automatically assign to new users | Every new user added in your branch will be assigned this curriculum. |
Show on Catalogue |
Tick to display the curriculum in your course catalogue. |
Show on Main Catalogue | Important: Do not turn on this option. Doing so will make your curriculum available to all users of the Academy, even those outside your branch. |
Base Price | This feature is not currently supported by Ideagen. |
Certification |
Assign a certificate template to the curriculum and choose the duration or "Forever" for certificate validity. |
Recertification behaviour |
Choose between renewing the existing certificate or issuing a new one when a user retakes the curriculum. |
- Once you have completed the fields, click Add.
2. Editing a Curriculum
- The options to edit your curriculum will become available after adding it, or you can edit any curriculum by clicking the button from the Curricula screen.
- There are several options displayed across the tabs to see and edit the curriculum, its Courses, Users, and Branches:
Option | Description |
---|---|
Courses | Allows you to select which courses are included in the curriculum, determine whether the courses are optional, and you can also set the order of each course within the curriculum. |
Users | Displays a list of all users in your branch (including Administrators and Instructors) and their registration date. You can enroll individual learners onto the curriculum from this screen and see the status of learners currently enrolled (such as completion date and score). |
Branches | Allows you to assign the curriculum to your organisations sub-branches. |
Note: Data from the Courses, Users and Branches tabs can be downloaded as an Excel-compatible CSV file by clicking the download button.
- There is also a tab to see and edit the curriculum Scoring rules and Completion rules:

- All existing completion rules are displayed on the page which define how the curriculum is marked as "completed", and you can add new rules or edit/delete existing rules using the buttons in the operations column.
- To add a new completion rule, click the Add Condition button.
- You can add a new rule using the options available in the Condition drop-down list:
- Completed all mandatory courses (must complete all courses except those marked as "optional").
- Completed specific courses (specify which courses must be completed to mark the curriculum as completed).
- You can also specify the relationship between conditions using the "And/Or" options in the Relation with other conditions drop-down list.
