Calendar management is essential in scheduling your on-site and blended learning sessions. This guide will walk you through the simple process of adding and editing calendar events, empowering you to stay organised and make the most of your learner's academic journey.
1. Adding an Event
The calendar feature in Academy allows you to view any scheduled events and add new events.
To access your calendar, click the speech button on the right-hand side of the top menu (next to the Help link) and select Calendar.
The calendar will open, and you can see any scheduled events (if any exist). You can toggle the calendar between daily, weekly and monthly view, and you can export the calendar information using the buttons in the top left of the screen.
- To add a new event to the calendar, click the Add Event button.
- A pop-up window displaying all available options will open:
Options | Description |

Title | This field is mandatory. |
Description | This field is optional however it may be useful to enter a description that will assist others who will see / be involved in the event. |
Date | Use the date picker to select the event date and start time. |
Duration | Use the slider bar to set the duration in either minutes or hours. |
This event is for me only (private) | Check this if you want the new event to be private to you only or leave it unchecked to make it public to all other users in your branch. |
This is a recurring event: | Check this to set the new event as a recurring event. |
Course | You can select a course from the drop-down list if the new event is to be linked to one of your courses. |
- Once you have completed the fields, click Add. You will then see the new event in your calendar. If the event is a public event, it will also be added to your branch user's calendar.
2. Editing an Event
- To edit an event, simply click the event in your calendar. A pop-up window provides various options:
- You can edit any of the information entered when the event was created such as title, date, duration, and so on.
- You also have the option to delete the event or add it to your external calendar (Outlook, Google, etc.).
