Configuring System Settings
Who is this article for?Administrators configuring system settings.
Professional Version Access is required.
Begin your Academy journey by configuring system settings prior to introducing content or users. Adjusted settings will apply universally to sub-branches, but individual sub-branch administrators can further customize their settings. Access the Settings area by clicking the Branch settings icon on the dashboard, divided into distinct sections for easy navigation.
1. Identity
The Identity section allows you to customise your branch site identity settings:

5. Users
The Users section allows you to adjust several user settings, split across two tabs:

Allow self signup | This option should be disabled. You should instruct users in your organisation to contact you directly if they wish to be added to the Academy. |
Users are required to provide an email | Enabled by default. Email address is a mandatory field for all users. |
Restrict registration to specific email domains | The system will only allow email addresses using specific domains (i.e. @ideagen.com). |
Terms of Service | Add license terms and conditions on the login page. |
Force users to accept the Terms of Service upon each login | Will force all users of your branch to accept the license notes every time they login to the Academy. |

Important: Do not select this option. The Academy has been configured to log out users automatically after 60 minutes of inactivity. |
Advanced User Settings | Description |
---|---|
Username format |
Note: You should use the learner's email address as their username. |
Mapped Accounts | By default, this feature is turned on. However, you can turn it off, or restrict mapping accounts to specific user types. To do this, selected the Advanced tab, then from the Mapped Accounts drop-down list, select which user types will have permission to use this feature. |
Auto-enrol mapped accounts to new courses | If the Administrator creating a new course has a mapped learner account, they will automatically be enrolled to the course. |
Users may un-enrol from courses | If enabled, learners can opt to unenrol themselves from courses assigned to them. |
6. Single Sign On
There are multiple options to enable single sign on for your users, including LDAP, SAML, OPENID CONNECT, Facebook, and Google Sign In. If SSO is required, this section should be completed by your organisation's SSO administrator.
7. Integrations
Currently, the only integration that is supported is with Ideagen Quality Management (Q-Pulse) Version 6.8+. For more information, see Integrating Academy with Ideagen Quality Management (Q-Pulse).
Important: Do not change any of the settings/fields in the Mail tab, otherwise the Academy will not be able to send out any email notifications.
