Embarking on the setup of your Academy involves several key steps. From establishing a branch structure for customised eLearning offerings to adjusting system settings and adding users and content, this guide provides a comprehensive overview to seamlessly launch your own Academy.
1. Setting up your Academy
To get your Academy up and running, we recommend doing the following:
Academy Set Up | Description |
---|---|
1. Set up branch structure (Professional only). | Branches have a tree-like structure, and you can create sub-branches with your organisation branch to separate and customise your eLearning offering for different departments, geographical regions, etc., each with its own courses, and users. See for more Creating and Managing Branches information. |
2. Adjust system settings (Professional only). | Your starting point for the Academy will be adjusting your system settings before adding your content or users. You can customise your Academy by adding your organisation name and logo, as well as being able to customise your security settings. See Configuring System Settings for more information. |
3. Add your eLearning content (Professional only). |
You can use the Courses section of the Academy to add your own eLearning content. Courses hold the actual training content, such as videos, quizzes, surveys, SCORM etc. Read more about adding courses. You can also organise your courses using the Curricula function which allows you to group your courses and perform mass actions on them. See Adding Course Content for more information. |
4. Add users. |
You can use the Users section of the Academy to view, add and manage your users. See how to add users. A user can be either an Administrator, an Instructor or a Learner. See Adding and Importing New Users for more information. |
5. Organise users (Professional only). |
Groups: Organise users efficiently for tasks like course assignments and reports. Ideal for managing large deployments. Learn more about setting up groups. Audiences: Categorise users based on conditions like sub-branch or job. Efficiently organise and manage user groups. Explore setting up audiences. Jobs: Segment learners by their roles for targeted course assignments. Efficiently manage learners by setting up jobs within the Academy. Learn more about setting up jobs. |
6. Create certificates (Professional only). | Certificates can be awarded upon successful completion of a course or curriculum. See Customising Certificates for more information. |
7. Schedule reports. | The Academy provides standard reports on Users, Courses, Curricula, Tests, Surveys, SCORM content, Certificates, and a Timeline of user actions. Easily filter and export these reports to CSV. Some reports can be scheduled for automatic runs with results emailed regularly. Professional customers can also create custom reports. See Filtering and Scheduling Reports for more information. |
